Atenri respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Atenri collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the app.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect and store information needed to operate Atenri, including:

• App-related identifiers, such as user IDs or account-linked identifiers
• Spending data, transaction information, account balances, and account metadata retrieved through Plaid when you connect a bank account
• Manual spend entries you add in the app
• App usage, crash, diagnostic, and performance information used to improve reliability and performance

Atenri does not receive or store your bank username or password.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

• Show daily spending totals, transaction history, categories, and summaries
• Provide features such as transaction breakdowns, merchant analysis, spend reports, and spend insights
• Connect and sync financial account data through Plaid
• Improve the performance, accuracy, reliability, and user experience of the app
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues

3. Bank Connections

If you choose to connect a bank account:

• Bank connections are powered by Plaid
• Atenri does not store your bank username or password
• Transaction and account data may be delayed, incomplete, reclassified, or updated later depending on your financial institution and Plaid data availability

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal financial data.

We may share data only with service providers required to operate Atenri, such as:

• Plaid for bank connection and transaction retrieval
• Hosting, diagnostics, and infrastructure providers that support the app

These providers are only given access to information reasonably necessary to perform their services.

We do not use your personal financial data for third-party advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.

5. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as needed to:

• Provide the service
• Support your access to past information and app functionality
• Comply with legal obligations
• Resolve disputes and enforce our terms
• Maintain security and prevent abuse

6. Your Choices

You can:

• Disconnect your bank account at any time
• Stop using Atenri at any time
• Choose not to add manual spend entries or connect a bank account
• Request deletion of your data by contacting us

Disconnecting a bank connection may stop future transaction syncing, but previously stored data may remain for operational, legal, security, or account-related purposes unless deleted.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including the use of encrypted connections where appropriate. No system can guarantee absolute security. By using Atenri, you understand that electronic storage and transmission always involve some risk.

8. Children’s Privacy

Atenri is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date. Continued use of Atenri after an update means you accept the revised policy.
